Central bank says has space for key rate change
ST. PETERSBURG, Jun 17 (PRIME) -- The central bank still has space to fine tune the monetary policy by changing the key rate, Deputy Chairman Alexei Zabotkin said on Friday at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
"We are not running the risk of deflation, the price rise amounts to 16.7% on the year. The space to fine tune the monetary policy through standard measures, such as the key rate mechanism, remains quite wide," Zabotkin said.
The central bank cut the key rate to 9.5% in June, which was the pre-sanction level.
